Love Akron Leadership

Executive Director

Pastor Mark Ford

Mark Ford spent the first 17 years of his life being shaped and prepared for his life long mission in a small rural community in Missouri.  At a very early age, Mark received his call to full time vocational ministry.  It was at the age of 17 during his senior year at Adrian high school that  Reverend Ford answered the call and began his preaching ministry.  In preparation for Christian Service, he enrolled in Central Bible College in Springfield, Missouri in 1970 and graduated in 1974 with a Bachelor degree in Biblical Studies.  Following graduation, he became the Associate Pastor of the First Assembly of God church in Butler, Mo.  He was invited to Pastor the Princeton Assembly of God in June of 1975.  He served in that capacity for about three years.

In May of 1978 Reverend Ford was invited by the State Leadership of the Ohio District of the Assemblies of God to come to Marion, Ohio as the pastor of a mission’s project.  In over six years of leadership of that church a new facility was erected and two morning worship services were held each Sunday until he resigned in 1984.  He was invited by the congregation of the Cuyahoga Falls Assembly of God church to come as Senior Pastor.  He served this congregation for over 18 years until July of 2002 when he accepted the position as Vice President of Development and College Advancement at Zion Bible College, in Barrington, Rhode Island. He remained in that position until the end of 2005 and resigned to return to Akron, Ohio to assume the role as Executive Director of Love Akron.

Mark has been a community leader in the cities where he has served promoting racial harmony and denominational unity.  He is a revivalist at heart and has a passion to see Christ’s Church be all that God has called it to be and do.

Reverend Ford and Janna, his wife of 37 years have two children, Kimberly and Greg.

Kimberly is married to Reverend Joshua Moraghan, Associate Pastor at the Community of Believers Church in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.  They have four children, Nathan, Brandon, Megan and Brooklyn.  Greg and his wife Shaylyn serve as lead Pastors in New Albany, Ohio.  They have a little daughter Ella.

Administrative Assistant

Sarah Klingler

I am the oldest daughter of retired missionaries to the Philippines.  My Dad, Steve Bucy, is now on staff as a care pastor at The Chapel.  I started out my college years as an English major at Taylor University but ended up graduating from Malone College with a degree in Special/Elementary Education.  I enjoyed teaching first grade for four years right out of college and then spent a year as a preschool administrator.

God moved my husband and I to Northern Virginia for almost four years, and I taught kindergarten for two of those years   before we were blessed with our first child, Elena.  Paul Steven followed right on her heels, less than 17 months later.

It has been my privilege to be at home with my kids for the last 5 years, but lately I have felt God calling me back to the workforce part-time.  Through God's amazing orchestration I found out about the position at Love Akron, and the rest is history.  I am so delighted to be a part of this amazing ministry as we seek to bring God's people into greater unity for the good of Akron.

Besides being a Mom and working at Love Akron I also am homeschooling my daughter, am a volunteer at First Glance student center in Kenmore, and am preparing to run in my first half-marathon in September.
