Q: What does Love Akron do?
Unite Greater Akron
We have served as the main catalyst for collaborative ministry since 1994. We provide a forum for pastors and ministry leaders in Summit County to be “at the table” with other organizations.
Pray for Greater Akron
We lead four major concerts of prayer for pastors and ministry leaders of Summit County, including a luncheon time of fellowship and networking. We also lead city-wide prayer initiatives andcoordinate prayer retreats and small prayer groups.
Lead Greater Akron
We serve as a resource, communication clearinghouse and connection for the leaders of churches and ministries in Summit County.As a partner with SUMMA Health Systems, we help lead their emergency task force to provide clergy and church facilities in the case of an epidemic, disaster or crisis.
Q: Who attends Love Akron events and what denominations are represented?
A: Love Akron is a cooperative fellowship of over 250 ministers and ministry leaders, ranging from Catholic priests to prison chaplains across Summit County, whose mission is to build trusting relationships in a network of prayer, Christian unity and ministry partnerships.
Q: Is Love Akron affiliated with any other religious or national ministries?
A: Love Akron has endorsed the Peacemakers ministry, headed by founder Ken Sande. It also has an unofficial relationship with Mission America.
Q: How is Love Akron funded?
A: Love Akron is a 501 C.3 not-for-profit ministry, which is funded through donations from friends and churches who believe in its mission and value its presence in the Greater Akron area. The annual budget is set by the Board of Directors.
