The J.E.D.I. Experience

What it is:

The J.E.D.I. Experience is a curated encounter welcoming individuals from diverse backgrounds to engage in dialogue that challenges class members to develop a better understanding of each other, at the speed of trust, through the lenses of Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion. This experience prepares participants to enact the truths and principles they will learn here, and will encourage them to listen, learn and lead responsibly within our community.

Where we will meet:

All the classes will be virtual except for the final closing picnic which will be in person.

Applications:

Applications will be taken through September 1, 2022. An interview with members of the J.E.D.I. Council will follow. Those who are invited to participate will be notified by September 17, 2022. All participants will be asked to pay a fee of $100 to cover the book and administrative expenses, but there is financial assistance for those who may need help. Those participating will be introduced at the Love Akron annual breakfast on September 27, 2022. There are no make up sessions and each experience will occur virtually on the 2nd Monday of a month from 7-8:30 pm.

Participants are asked to commit to all the program dates as listed below:
