Every Student Belongs | 31 Days of Prayer for Greater Akron Schools
October GAP: Greater Akron Prays
October is National Bullying Prevention Month, inviting us to consider how safety, kindness, connection and belonging shape a student's experience. This month, we are praying specifically for the students, teachers, staff, families and schools of Greater Akron.
Bullying prevention is not only a program or message. It begins with relationships and communities where students know they belong. Join us each day in asking God to strengthen our schools and remind every student: You matter. You are seen. You are heard. You are valued.
Week One: Every Student Belongs

God, help every student in Greater Akron know they are seen, heard and valued. Place people around those who feel forgotten and remind them that they belong.
October 2: Students Starting the Day Anxious
God, meet students who enter school carrying anxiety, fear or uncertainty. Give them peace and place a caring adult or classmate in their path.
October 3: Students Who Feel Alone

October 4: New Students
God, help students entering a new school, classroom or community find welcome and connection. Give others the courage to reach out first.
October 5: Students Learning Across Differences
God, teach students to respect people whose cultures, experiences, abilities or beliefs are different from their own. Let curiosity replace judgment.

God, give students courage to stand beside someone being mistreated and to tell a trusted adult. Help them understand that asking for help is an act of strength.
October 11: Online Safety

October 13: Restored Relationships
God, bring healing where words or actions have caused harm. Make space for truth, accountability, changed behavior and relationships that can be safely restored.
October 14: Cultures of Kindness
God, shape our schools into places where kindness, acceptance and inclusion are practiced every day, not only discussed during a special month.
Week Three: Those Who Shape the School Day
October 15: Teachers
God, strengthen teachers as they educate, encourage and care for students. Give them patience, creativity and the ability to see the needs behind a student's behavior.
October 16: School Administrators
God, give principals and administrators wisdom as they make decisions affecting students, families and staff. Help them lead with fairness, courage and compassion.

October 27: Students Who Are Chronically Absent
God, reveal the barriers keeping students from school. Help families, educators and community partners respond with understanding and practical support.
October 28: Students Making Difficult Choices

October 31: Connection That Continues
God, do not let our attention end with October. Make us people who keep showing up, building trust and reminding every student that they matter throughout the year.
A Closing Prayer for Greater Akron
God, help every student in Greater Akron know they are seen, heard, valued and connected. Strengthen the teachers, staff, families and mentors surrounding them.
